Are Dumbasses Leading You In Real Life? They Might Be

This Is What Happened To Me

At one point in my life I found myself in a new unfamiliar environment surrounded by people who at first impression seemed dumb.

But they were confident and seemed to be getting stuff done.

So I decided that my initial impression must be wrong.

“It must be me who is lacking,” I told myself. Because if my first impression was right, they would be mega dumbasses. And in comparison I would be a genius, something I knew I was not.

When their advice didn’t compute, I told myself that it is me who does not see things right. Perhaps I am young and inexperienced.

So I took their advice. Things went wrong for me. When things went wrong they gave me more advice. I took it all the more.

I ended up fucking up.

I started to reflect.

I looked at how poor their lives were. How they never rose above anything.

I realized I was attributing wisdom to their dumbassery.

For some reason I couldn’t accept that people could be so dumb. Maybe because they seemed so nice. I preferred to believe they had higher understanding and knowledge I didn’t. I endowed their words with…
